The aim is to offer senior residents of Ophthalmology the opportunity to take part in one of the Elena Barraquer Foundation’s third world medical-assistance expeditions to combat avoidable blindness.
Objectives
The objective of this action is to provide, through a unique experience of International Cooperation, a Training in Humanization Competences in Health Care of the MIR (R4) of Ophthalmology, working actively with an NGO that carries out its work in countries with scarce resources assisting Patients who are in a state of absolute vulnerability.
Addressees
Residents of last year of ophthalmology.
Requirements
Candidates must be in the second semester of the last year of their Ophthalmology residency:
- Must have a letter of recommendation from the chief of service.
- Personal interview.
- Present a letter of between 500-700 words about your motivation to be part of an assistance expedition.
- Comply with the requirements that the Elena Barraquer Foundation demands of its volunteers.
Incompatibilities
Ophthalmologists who have already completed their residency.
Endowment
The scholarship consists of Qvision’s financing of the following expenses: transport, accommodation and meals during the week of expedition.
