Óptica Universitaria is doing its bit to eradicate preventable blindness by donating 3,000 pre-assembled glasses and 300 sunglasses to the Elena Barraquer Foundation, as well as a financial contribution for the Foundation’s humanitarian trips. In this way, the company specializing in the distribution and marketing of vision and hearing products and services becomes an annual sponsor of the institution, which works to reduce the number of cataract blind people worldwide.
Starting in April, the material donated to the Foundation will be distributed to developing countries such as Angola, Argentina, Ghana, Rwanda, Mozambique and Algeria. In particular, some of the material will be destined for the Foundation’s next humanitarian trip to Guinea Conakri, which will take place from 28 April to 5 May 2018.
The agreement was signed in Barcelona by Dr. Elena Barraquer and the Director of Operations, Guillem Caballero.
