Elena Barraquer Foundation among the projects selected to participate in the XV edition of the 24 hrs Ford

Ford has announced the 12 NGOs that will participate in its famous charity race. Ford will distribute a total of 115,000 euros in prizes to participating entities.

The new Ford Fiesta will be the model with which the participating NGOs will compete in the fifteenth edition of the charity event, to be held between 6 and 7 July at the Jarama circuit. On this historic track, twelve teams will compete in the 15th edition of the endurance and consumption test that will distribute a total of 115,000 euros among the solidarity projects. Twelve organizations will participate in the race and compete to implement projects related to disability, children and youth, the sick, developing countries or people at risk of social exclusion.

A jury advised by representatives of the SERES Foundation, the entity that acts as the technical secretariat of the event, was responsible for selecting the solidarity projects. This year, the proposals of the 45 applications received from the Ford 24 Hour Fund have been carefully analyzed. The jury of the Ford 24 Hour Fund, after an arduous process of deliberation, thanks to the high quality, scope and innovative spirit of the proposed projects, has selected the twelve NGOs that will participate in this year’s race.

24 Hours Ford: 15 appointments with the social commitment At the gates of its 15th edition, the 24 Hours Ford have distributed to date more than 1.6 million euros for solidarity projects of 75 NGOs that have benefited 135,000 people around the world.

In this event, Ford has combined two fundamental elements of its DNA: social responsibility and competition. This is a test in which twelve vehicles leave with a limited amount of fuel and tyres. Each team will have to dose the fuel and tyres 24 hours a day to reach the end, with all the drivers taking turns. The final classification is determined by the number of laps each team has managed to complete. All the prizes distributed in the 24 Hours Ford are intended to finance aid programmes for the most needy groups in our society through the solidarity projects of the twelve entities selected. As in previous editions, each participating NGO will be represented by a team in which popular faces will stand out and lend their image in a totally altruistic way and will be the ambassadors of each team. The prize will be completed by representatives of the sponsors, customers, journalists and Ford España employees.

We hope to be very lucky.
