{"id":663,"date":"2019-12-02T09:22:19","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T09:22:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacionelenabarraquer.com\/?p=663"},"modified":"2021-05-20T09:29:13","modified_gmt":"2021-05-20T09:29:13","slug":"givingtuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fundacionelenabarraquer.com\/en\/givingtuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"#GivingTuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The idea for #GivingTuesday came from the NGO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.92y.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">92Y Street<\/a> in New York, dedicated for more than 100 years to social works, and from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">United Nations Foundation<\/a>, which has contributed its experience in the strategy and dissemination of solidarity projects.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012 the movement called #GivingTuesday (Tuesday to give) was created in the USA as an alternative to the previous days, known as <strong>Black Friday<\/strong> and <strong>Cyber Monday<\/strong>, which promote shopping before Christmas. In its first edition, thousands of organizations and people came together to collaborate in solidarity actions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#GivingTuesday arrived in Spain for the first time in 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>#GivingTuesday is a global movement of more than 50 countries that have already participated and want to encourage and multiply the good actions of people. The goal is to dedicate a day around the world, this year on <strong>December 3<\/strong>, to celebrate the <strong>action of giving<\/strong>, whether food, money, time (volunteering), second-hand objects, etc..
