And even the weather decided to put this whole operation to the test. Bad weather forced us to stay in Lisbon for two more days. What could have been a setback ended up being a gift: two extra days to spend together, laugh and enjoy the company of people with whom you always want to stay just a little bit longer.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re heading home with 389 operations under our belts, yes. But also with hugs, stories, a shared bond and the certainty that great expeditions aren\u2019t just made by the hands that operate, but by everyone who makes sure every piece falls into place.<\/p>\n

And to finish, we\u2019ll take with us the three phrases from our dear Andr\u00e9s, a Chilean surgeon, which perfectly sum up the spirit of this expedition:<\/p>\n
