The FEB not only brings you closer to that opportunity you\u2019ve long imagined, but also allows you to witness first-hand how a life can be changed forever simply by your presence.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t need much more than the desire to help, as you\u2019ll be assigned to a team where your tasks are simple to learn but essential.<\/p>\n<p>Every expedition feels unique, but in Nigeria I experienced something that profoundly transformed my understanding of the impact of what we do: seeing how people who had spent years in darkness regained the light in their lives; people who, had it not been for this week, were destined to spend the rest of their days that way.<\/p>\n<p>The exhaustion and the never-ending work faded away in the face of the thrill of restoring sight to 641 people. They weren\u2019t just numbers: they were stories, families and dreams being reborn.<\/p>\n<p>I have no doubt whatsoever that life, sooner or later, gives back all the good you give. On this expedition, that exchange was immediate and profound: not only did I leave a piece of my heart in that beautiful country and with my team (who are now family), but I also took a piece of them back home with me.
