The 5th edition of the Scalpel congress held in Barcelona last February, which brings together a large group of medical students eager to learn more about surgery and medicine in general, wanted to reserve a special space for the Elena Barraquer Foundation so that Mar\u00eda Bertrand, head of logistics, and Sofia Navarro, instrumentalist nurse responsible for coordinating the material for the expeditions, both employees of the Foundation, could explain what we do, how we do it and why we need young doctors as volunteers at our side.<\/p>\n

The Congress, which brought together more than 200 students from 40 universities and 13 different countries who were able to learn the most advanced surgical techniques from the best experts in the field. Three days where the surgical vocation was encouraged and where the Elena Barraquer Foundation had its place and made butterflies fly in the stomachs of many young people eager to eat the world.<\/p>\n
