She continued her curriculum as a Fellow in the Ocular Pathology Laboratory of the Wilmer Eye Institute (Baltimore), as a resident in Internal Medicine at the Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, and from 1984 to 1987 she trained as a resident physician in Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary (Boston).
